HOTEL INFORMATION

Mbweni Ruins Hotel is located on the sheltered West Coast of Zanzibar Island.  Mbweni Ruins Hotel is only about 6 km from Stone Town, and only 4 km from Zanzibar International airport.  This makes Mbweni Ruins Hotel the perfect Zanzibar hotel to start or end your holiday on Zanzibar Island.  Mbweni Ruins Hotel is set in a botanic garden that was conceived in 1991.  The garden is now established as a flourishing Botanic garden which includes over 650 plant species.

Mbweni Ruins Hotel has just finished building a brand new bar on stilts above the beach.  A private jetty which stretches out from the base of the bar into the sea is now finish so that guests can arrive by boat from Stone Town.  There are also plans for 6 new luxury suites into the long arm of the ruins, beside the palm gardens.

Mbweni Ruins Hotel is perfect for a romantic tropical Island getaway, or a family vacation.  Children under the age of 12 years traveling with parents will receive a special discounter rate if sharing a suite with there parents.  Due to the fact that Mbweni Ruins Hotel is very popular, and can only accommodate up to 30 guests, it is recommended to book well in advance to be accommodated, especially in the June ~ September and December ~ February high season.  The meal plan for Mbweni Ruins Hotel start on a bed and breakfast basis.  It can be upgraded to a half board (breakfast and dinner) or a full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) package.  Mbweni Ruins Hotel also has a complementary shuttle to take guests to Stone Town during the day.
 

ROOMS AT HOTEL

• 13 Suites in total offering accommodation for 30 people

Mbweni Ruins offers 13 air-conditioned suite and each suite is furnished in traditional Zanzibar style.

All the suites are situated close to the swimming pool and the secluded beach and include a balcony that overlooks the ocean.

The Baobab Suite is perfect for honeymoons.  This suite is even more spacious and includes a king-sized four-poster bed.  It also includes its own rooftop terrace with breathtaking views over the ocean, the ruins and the garden.

For peace and quite no phones or TV’s are found in the suites, an Internet Café is situated in the main reception area.

Description of the 13 suites at Mbweni ruins:

1. The Baobab suite is on the third (top) floor; it has its own private rooftop veranda as well as the main double bedroom, an entrance hall with writing desk, dressing room, and a bathroom with bath, shower and bidet.

2. A ground floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with bath and shower.

3. A second floor suite with double bed, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

4. A second floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with bath and shower.

5. The Frangipani suite is on the third (top) floor; it has no veranda but a large main double bedroom, extra bedroom with a single Zanzibar bed and a bathroom with shower.

6. A ground floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

7. A ground floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

8. A second floor suite with main double bedroom, a separate bedroom with twin bunk beds, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

9. A second floor suite with double bed, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

10. A ground floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.

11. A ground floor suite with twin beds, entrance hall with writing desk, veranda, and bathroom with shower.
