Dear Dawie On behalf of our families, we would like to give you positive feedback and thanks for the help in arranging this trip. I have added some photo's but nothing does justice to seeing it with our own eyes. Sandies Neptune Pwani was quite fantastic. We ate way too much and had a complete ball. We used the resort to organise a snorkelling trip and Island Tours to organise a Spice Tour. Their pick-ups and collections were fantastic. The beaches were better than I expected - way better - and as you can see from some of the pictures, the scenery was just amazing. Sandies Neptune Pwani was fantastic and I have to say that I could easily have done another week! The staff were so friendly as were the locals. We had an amazing time and would definitely consider doing it all again. Regards, Lisa |

Hi Dawie, I just want to say thank you for everything you have done regarding the bookings etc for our Zanzibar trip. We had the most amazing time! The hotel was fantastic, and the tours were divine. We had no problems with our shuttles or at the airport, and your Zanzibar agent, especially Rashid who drove us back to the airport and gave us a mini spice tour on the way! We will definitely be recommending your services to anyone wanting to go to Zanzibar, and will most likely be going again, hopefully sooner than later! Warm regards, Kirsti, Emma

Hello Rose, Sorry that I took so long to reply back re our lovely Zanzibar Holiday. Let me start by saying thank you very much for all your help. You made things so easy for us, taking us through all the procedures step by step that I can honestly say we had no stress before the time. With our busy work schedule, this was a huge bonus for us. I think the biggest job for us was standing in queue at Home Affairs to get Andrew’s passport renewed! Let me say, after leaving OR Tambo without any hassles, and very friendly and helpful staff, it was a bit of a culture shock for us when we stepped down in Zanzibar. Not what I expected at all and the heat…! Wow, I’m sure the temp must have been soaring in the 40’s. But what friendly people they are. I think if I have to describe |
|
|
Zanzibar in a few words, it will be very hot, very poor, but one of the most beautiful places and the friendliest people. (I must also tell you that according to them February is one of the hottest months of the year, and the temp was higher than usual. We had 3-4 days of extreme heat, and the rest of the time much more bearable. The best thing for me was the beautiful air-conditioned rooms. After a morning of eating and swimming and tanning and eating again….we could go back to this lovely cool room, take a shower and a rest for a couple of hours, just to get up and ready for yes… more eating and the evenings entertainment! The land arrangements went 100% smooth, our tour-guide waiting for us and escorting us to the Kombi, introducing us to the other S/Africans in the car, and handing out water straight away. On the way to Sandies Neptune Pwani they stopped several times to point out something of interest, and to tell us about the different spices etc. At the resort, once again no problems, very friendly and helpful staff, and all the arrangements you guys made 100% in order. As I said, we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely, spacious, neat and cool rooms. As we had the full package, all was included in our deal. 3 Meals a day, snacks morning and afternoon, drinks and cocktails as much as one can handle! (I gained 4kg in weight!!) But it was definitely worth every cent. We spoke to a lot of tourist from other resorts that were on the day tours with us, and they were jealous of the deal and luxury that we had. Before my letter becomes a novel, let me just say THANK YOU again, it was awesome, and I will any day refer people to you and your agency, and definitely to Zanzibar and this resort! There is so much more that I can tell you, but instead I’ll include a few pictures for you, and a few pointers for travellers to keep in mind. Don’t over pack – you really just need a few light items of clothing as u spend most of the day in you swimming costume and shorts. Silk is not a good idea, too clingy in the heat. They accept US Dollars, Euros and Shillings at most places, with $ being the most popular by far. The locals also give u better deals if u use $ instead of Shillings. (And know your 7 & 8 timetable, so that don’t get robbed!) Make sure you get $1, $2 and $5 when u change your money – you have so many people eager to help and carry things for you, and they all want a tip. $1 and $2 tips are the most popular to give according to the other tourists. Take enough good (high factor) sunscreen lotion with. The sea-breeze tends to mask the heat of the sun, and after a couple of days it’s a bit too much. Good sunglasses and a hat is also a good idea. A small first-aid kit is a MUST…Make sure u have things like needles, tweezers, plasters, Imodium, Valoids etc in this kit. When you go out on the sea with the Dhows (boats) - Sturganol is the best for motion-sickness. And don’t worry if you “feed the fish”, the boats are not very stable, but lots of fun - and it happens to most of us every now and then! The most expensive lesson that I learned…take water shoes with! (get them in all the sport shops) flops really don’t work that well. My 2nd day I walk around in the sea – the water only reach up to your hips, and I stepped on a Sea-Urchin or a piece of Coral, we couldn’t make out what it was because at this time I was hobbling around like a mad person with my one foot in the air and blood dripping out! We only had tweezers with us, and couldn’t get the pieces out of my foot (about 8 pieces). By the next morning it was so sore and red – definite sign of infection that we had to go to the hotel’s Doctor. After an hour of excruciating pain, he dug it all out with a needle and tweezers @ a cost of $90! (R765-00) The very next day Andrew came down with gastro (they think it was maybe a side effect of the Malaria tablets) Following day still not better, back to the doctor, he gave him 8 tablets, and it cost another $30 (R255-00) Needless to say, if I had water-shoes on, it wouldn’t have happened, and if we had a little first-aid kit, we could have solve the problems ourselves, and saved $120 to maybe go on another day-trip! Well, I hope a few people might get something useful out of all this. And as soon as I can do it again, I’ll be cack to beautiful Zanzibar! Kind Regards, Anne
Smith |
